Photographer. Mother. Wife. Daughter. Friend. Coffee Lover. Simple Life Seeker.
All these things are apart of who I am. Without any of these, I wouldn’t be me.
I started to embark on my journey of photography while in high school and then continued to do so in college. It has always been a hobby and something I loved. I had my eye on another career involving music and entertainment for families. I pursued that and for a long time, I loved it. I worked for Disney, who couldn’t love that?
Once I got pregnant with my daughter, my gears shifted. My job was not ideal for someone with a family. And lets be honest, the Boston commute wasn’t either. My husband and I had been discussing moving back home to CNY where we had grown up. Our family was there and we wanted our daughter to have strong relationships with our family who mostly reside in CNY. So off we went. Back to NY after 10 years in Boston. I became a stay at home mom and feel so blessed to have this opportunity to be at home with our daughter.
After about a year of staying home, I kept having the feeling of wanting to challenge myself a little more, use my creativity. You see, I liked working. I was good at it. It was just not the right job, the commute was horrendous, and we wanted to be close to our families again. I, like most mothers, took a ton of photos of my daughter. I was constantly being told that I should take it to the next level and start a business.
So after a lot of pushing from family and friends, I decided to do just that. I love learning and growing and exploring this new chapter in my life. I feel so blessed that I am able to do something that I love every single day and show my daughter that you can do what you dream if you just take a leap of faith and have some courage in yourself. Without the support of my husband, family and friends I would not be here. So here I am. Turning my love of photography into a business and I am so excited to be able to share my journey with you.
